Mats and Frames

Oct. 12, 2011

This script will render a mat and a beveled frame around an image.

Matting and framing are separate operations, with user selectable textures, patterns, colors and bevel settings. This is a versatile script with a plethora of configuration options for maximum flexibility.

  1. I get an error when trying to use the mats-and-frames.scm. I am using GIMP 2.8 on Vista
Anybody else? Error: ( : 1) eval: unbound variable: gimp-drawable-image

Try editing the file to change all 3 occurrences of gimp-drawable-image to gimp-drawable-get-image. This worked for me.

  3. Updated to version 0.3 using programmer_ceds comments. Now works on GIMP 2.8.2

  4. I just updated to 2.8.4 and now I’m getting the same error. I have searched the .scm file for any instances of “gimp-drawable-image” and find none. I only find ONE instance of “gimp-drawable-get-image” at the start of the script. I use Filters>Decor>Add Mat extensively, so this is bad. What am I not doing correctly?

  5. Where do you find this script on the menu when downloaded?

    • You can click on “Details” in the upper right corner of any script on this site and it will show the menu locations for that script, as well as all of the other relevant details for that script.

  6. Is it possible to change the menu place of a script ?

I.E. the script is located in “Filters>Decor>Add Mat” and i’d like to find it in “Filters >Add Mat”
